Dark Chocolate Granola
This healthy Dark Chocolate Granola is the best homemade granola recipe you'll ever make! With only 8 ingredients, it's the perfect sweet treat with crunchy oats, dark chocolate, and sweetened with maple syrup.

- 2 cups oats
- ½ cup shredded coconut,, unsweetened
- ½ teaspoon course sea salt*
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder;, or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ⅓ cup maple syrup
- ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips;, optional
Preheat oven to 325°F.
In a large bowl, mix together oats, shredded coconut, and sea salt.
In another microwave safe bowl, add cocoa powder, coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla. Microwave for 10-15 seconds until melted and liquid consistency.
Pour the chocolate over the dry ingredients and mix until well-coated.
Press the mixture onto the prepared baking tray.
Bake for 25-35 minutes. After removing from the oven, let the granola cool completely. The granola will get crispier as it cools.
If using, add in chocolate chips about 10 minutes after removing from the oven. You can add them after the granola is completely cooled as well for non melted chocolate chips.
If you want to keep larger clusters, do not mix the granola until completely cooled.
Once cooled, break into pieces. Enjoy as a cereal, snack, with fruits, or with yogurt!
- This recipe is meant to have a sweet and salty taste. If you prefer a less salty, more sweet, you can start with ¼ teaspoon salt.
- I don't like my granola extra sweet so if you prefer yours to be sweeter, add in a little more maple syrup. Optional mix-ins such as dried fruits or chocolate chips will also increase the sweet flavors.
