A delicious Balsamic Blueberry Cream Cheese Dip that was inspired by a cooking class I went to a while back. The chef whipped up a delicious appetizer for us before we started the class and it was so delicious. It's no secret that I love using blueberries in my recipes (like the blueberry chia seed pudding). So naturally, I needed to learn how to make this cream cheese dip immediately.
Cream cheese with blueberries is the perfect sweet and tangy appetizer that you can serve with crackers or bruschetta toast. I love using these bruschettini toasts (affiliate link) with appetizer dips. You can find these at most grocery stores or on Amazon. The appetizer will go great even if you serve it with any of your favorite bread, pita chips, etc!
Ingredients for Blueberry Cream Cheese Dip
Blueberries. Fresh or frozen blueberries work really well. Blueberries are high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits, low in calories, and contain vitamins C and K.
Cream Cheese.
- Add some rosemary for some herbed flavor. I used dried rosemary.
- Add balsamic vinegar to bring out the rich flavor of blueberries.
Balsamic Vinegar. Brings out the rich flavor of blueberries.
Rosemary. Really adds depth to this cream cheese dip as well as earthy flavor. If you don't like rosemary, you can also try thyme, mint, or omit the rosemary! I use dried because I always have that on hand but fresh works beautifully!
How To Make Blueberry Cream Cheese Dip
- Heat a small saucepan and add blueberries, maple syrup, and rosemary.
- Let the mixture thicken and bubble for about 5 minutes then add the balsamic vinegar.
- Let the blueberry mixture cool for a few minutes.
- Remove the cream cheese from the package onto the serving plate. Pour the blueberry mixture over the cream cheese mixture.
- Serve warm or cooled with crackers of your choice!
Tips and Variations
- You can make the blueberry topping ahead and add it to the cream cheese right before serving.
There are so many combinations that also work well with cream cheese and blueberry.
- Whipped cream cheese is a great alternative and easy to work with.
- Other herbs that work well with this are thyme, sage, mint, lavender, or lemon (add some lemon zest on top!).
- If you'd rather use a different type of cheese, go for it! I struggle finding options without animal rennet in cheese like goat or brie so cream cheese works perfectly for me.

Hi. Would this be ok if made the night before serving? Thank you.
Shweta
Yes, you most definitely can! I would recommend using whipped cream cheese if you're prepping in advance so the cream cheese doesn't harden too much!

This got rave reviews on my Fourth of July charcuterie board.

This simple but elegant dip reminded me of an elevated blueberry cheesecake so I decided to serve it alongside graham crackers... it was a total hit with all of the baby shower attendees. Love the tanginess of balsamic vinegar. Thanks for sharing!
