    • ⭐ Reviews

This vibrant green sauce is packed with flavor and spice and can be used in so many different dishes. It's like a cilantro-based chimichurri and can be added to many of your meals. This pairs well with Mexican-inspired and Indian-inspired cuisine. If you're just looking to add some freshness to your meals, cilantro lime sauce is going to become a staple in your kitchen.

    ⭐ Benefits of Cilantro

Did you know some people have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap to them? We feel bad for their taste buds missing out! Luckily, for the rest of us, cilantro is a great source of vitamins A and K (My dad used to always tell us it was good for your eyes...now I know why!), with studies showing it can help with pain and inflammation and aid in digestion.

    📋 Ingredients for Cilantro Sauce

    cilantro lime sauce ingredients

This recipe only requires 7 ingredients that you probably have available in your fridge already!

    1. Cilantro
    2. Garlic
    3. Jalapeño
    4. Lime
    5. Salt
    6. Oil (I used avocado oil but any neutral oil will work)
    7. Water

📖 How to Make Cilantro Sauce

It's made by blending fresh cilantro leaves with the following ingredients: garlic, lime juice, oil, and jalapeno for some extra spice. Use it as a sauce for tacos, mix it into rice or quinoa bowls, use it as a marinade for grilled tofu, or add it to sandwiches - the possibilities are endless.

Use any food processor, you'd like. I like mine slightly chunky so I use this mini food processor. If I want to blend it thoroughly or make a larger batch, I use my Vitamix.

Depending on your jalapeño, this can easily turn into a spicy cilantro lime sauce. You can adjust according to your spice level by decreasing or increasing the jalapeños.

    💭 FAQ

How long is cilantro sauce good for?

    • I would store this in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Since it has oil and lime, it can preserve the fresh ingredients for slightly longer than other sauces.

Can I freeze this cilantro sauce?

    • Absolutely. You can use ice cube trays to freeze the sauce into cubes. Once frozen, remove the cubes and place them in a reusable bag or container for future use. To thaw, simply place the sauce in the fridge the night before or morning of use to defrost.

    What are some serving options?

    • I love making this with fusion dishes like Paneer Tacos, Paneer Pull Apart Bread Rolls, and Air Fryer Masala Potatoes.
    • For Mexican-inspired meals: I love using it with my Tempeh Quesadillas, Tofu Scramble, and Crispy Sweet Potato Black Bean Tacos.
    • For Vegetables and Salads: I like to drizzle over it with Roasted Sweet Potatoes or replace the lime dressing for my Black Bean and Mango Salad.

Cilantro sauce is a versatile and delicious addition to any dish. Its bright and fresh flavor profile adds flavor to everything from tacos to sandwiches. Whether used as a marinade, dressing, or dipping sauce, cilantro sauce is sure to elevate the taste of any meal. So next time you want to add some extra flair to your cooking, try this cilantro sauce.
