This refreshing, sweet, and savory fresh mango salsa recipe is a great addition to tacos, as a dip for pita, crackers, or chips. This is the perfect dish to make in as little as 10 minutes. This easy mango salsa is vegan and made with only seven ingredients. It's something I love to make when mangos are in season and when I have guests over.
Why I love this Mango Salsa Recipe
- It's naturally vegan, no added sugar, and oil free.
- Full of nutrients with the mangoes.
- Quickly comes together for a quick appetizer or snack.
📋 Ingredients

- Mangos. I used ataulfo mangos. These have worked the best for me while they're in season. You don't want completely mushy mangoes, just perfectly soft yet still firm and ripe.
- Red onions. Red onions add color and the perfect savory profile to your mango salsa recipe.
- Pickled jalapeños. I use Mezzetta sliced jalapeños for an extra tangy flavor. However, you can use fresh jalapeños as well! If you use fresh, add the juice of one lime to your recipe.
- Red bell peppers. I like to add red bell peppers for an extra boost of Vitamin C, color, and crunch!
- Garlic. I like to add fresh garlic for an extra savory flavor. If you find the garlic is too pungent for you, you can either omit it or mince it and let it set with lime juice for 5-10 minutes to soften the flavor.
- Salt. I use basic table salt, however, sea salt works well to add an extra boost of minerals.
- Roasted Ground Cumin. I get this from the Indian grocery stores, or my Mom makes it for me fresh. However, you can buy it online as well!
- Cilantro to garnish. Herbs add a nutritious boost and great flavor to your recipes. This mango salsa recipe pairs well with cilantro as a topping.

📖 How to Make Mango Salsa
The easiest way to make homemade mango salsa is to add the red onions, jalapeños, red bell peppers, and garlic to a chopper like this one or hand-dice everything. Peel and dice the mangos. Then add salt and ground cumin. Garnish with cilantro and serve cold!
There are a lot of ways to cut a mango. Don't let people tell you you're doing it the wrong way; do what works for you! This is my preferred method: I peel and then chop into the desired size.

💭 Top Tips
- Making the mango salsa in advance really helps the flavors settle in. If I’m using this in the evening, I like to prep in the morning.
- Chop the ingredients smaller so you get the perfect salsa bites
- If you don’t have ground cumin, you can use taco seasoning. Adjust the salt since taco seasoning generally includes salt.

Variations
Add a can of drained and rinsed black beans to boost the protein in the mango salsa recipe.
Add diced avocados to get in good fats and keep you full for longer.
Try adding diced pineapple or corn for an extra sweet touch.
Add diced cucumbers for a bigger crunch and fresh taste.
How to Serve Mango Salsa
I like to serve my mango salsa with black bean tacos or with paneer tacos.
Dip it with tortilla chips or pita chips.
Serve it with other appetizers like Mexican Street Corn Salad, Jalapeño Corn Dip, or Tortilla Pinwheels.

Notes
- If using a fresh jalapeño, add juice of one lime.
- I prefer to make this in advance and refrigerate so the flavors set in but it still tastes great if serving immediately!
